Smith & Nephew Allevyn Life Silicone Foam Dressings are multi-layered with soft hydrocellular foam and a masking layer, ideal for wound treatment.  The unique quadrilobe shape with a wide border is designed to fit the contours of the human body securely, and the multi-layered design provides added cushioning and spreads out the pressure as you move. Allevyn foam dressing maintains its shape and stays in place when wet, allowing patients to shower. The foam dressing’s wide border with adhesive sticks to the skin, but can easily be removed without tearing or damaging the skin's surface.  A change indicator lets you know when it's time to switch out your dressing for another, promoting faster healing in a shorter time frame.

How do you use or apply this product?

To apply ALLEVYN Life:

1. Cleanse the wound according to protocols.

2. Prepare and clean the skin surrounding the wound area by removing excess moisture. Any excess hair should be clipped to ensure a close approximation to the wound.

3. Remove one of the protector materials from ALLEVYN Life and anchor the adhesive side of the dressing to the skin. Smooth the dressing over the wound ensuring there are no creases.

4. Remove the remaining protector material and smooth the dressing over the remainder of the wound without stretching the dressing. The pad area only of the dressing must adhere across the entire surface of the wound. 

5. To remove ALLEVYN Life, lift the edge of the dressing and slowly peel it back until it is completely removed from the wound.
