About Jobst Cutimed Sorbact Hydrogel Dressing
The Jobst Cutimed Sorbact Hydrogel Dressing is an advanced wound care dressing that uniquely combines two mechanisms of action: hydrogel moisture donation and DACC (dialkylcarbamoyl chloride) antimicrobial binding technology. DACC is a fatty acid derivative coating that makes the dressing surface hydrophobic — when it contacts wound tissue, bacteria and fungi adhere irreversibly to the dressing and are removed from the wound bed when the dressing is changed. This physical binding approach reduces wound bioburden without antibiotics or antimicrobial chemicals, eliminating the risk of antibiotic resistance development. Simultaneously, the hydrogel component rehydrates dry, sloughy, or necrotic wound tissue, facilitating autolytic debridement. The combination makes Cutimed Sorbact Hydrogel an effective choice for infected and at-risk wounds across wound types. The green indicator surface identifies the wound contact side for correct placement.
Key Benefits & Features:
- DACC coating physically binds bacteria and fungi for removal at each dressing change
- Chemical-free antimicrobial mechanism eliminates antibiotic resistance concerns
- Hydrogel component donates moisture to rehydrate dry and necrotic wound tissue
- Facilitates autolytic debridement in sloughy and dry wound beds
- Green wound contact surface provides clear visual guidance for correct application
- Suitable for all wound types with infection risk including ulcers, burns, and surgical wounds
