Sleep soundly, stay dry: the BD® PureWick™ System for women
The gentle, non-invasive external catheter designed exclusively for women. It helps protect delicate skin and reduce uncomfortable overnight changes.
The non-invasive solution for female incontinence
Designed for comfort
The soft, flexible wick material is placed externally and is not inserted.
Minimize skin irritation
Designed to prevent moisture from reaching the skin, reducing the risk of irritation.
Help manage UTI risk
Keeps urine away from the skin and urethra, which may reduce the chance of infections.
Discreet and dignified
Works quietly to manage urine flow, offering a simple solution for women and caregivers.
Step 1: Choose your base
The PureWick™ Urine Collection System is the complete base you need to begin, and includes two options: with or without a battery. They both include the pump, canister, all tubing, privacy covers, and power cord.
Battery-operated collection system
Ideal for peace of mind and flexibility. The rechargeable battery provides up to 8 hours of power during an outage or when a wall outlet isn't nearby.
Standard plug-in collection system
A simple and reliable choice for users who have an outlet nearby. This system plugs directly into the wall for continuous, uninterrupted power.
Step 2: Choose your catheter and replacement kit
Both external catheters are soft, non-invasive, and designed for your comfort. The choice depends on your individual needs and body type. The replacement kit is essential for maintaining your system.
Female External Catheter
The trusted original used in hospitals nationwide. Its soft, flexible fabric is designed to wick away urine and help keep skin dry.
Flex Female External Catheter
Features an advanced design with bendable tubing that contours to your body. The multi-layer fabric offers a secure, comfortable fit.
Essential Replacement Kit
Keep your system running smoothly and hygienically. This kit should be replaced every 60 days to ensure optimal performance.
How to properly place the catheter
Proper placement is key for both catheter types. Watch this video to see how.
1.
Prepare the area: Gently separate the legs so you can easily see the area where the catheter will be placed.
2.
Position the wick: Tuck the soft gauze end of the wick between the buttocks and the outer vaginal lips (labia).
3.
Align with body: Bring the legs back together. The top of the soft wick should be facing upwards, in line with the pubic bone.
4.
Connect to system: Attach the catheter's tube to the tubing on the collection canister and turn on the system's pump.
